Frogville Music Project

We sit here in Santa Fe, New Mexico and for 8 years we have produced and recorded some of the best original artists here locally and more as they traveled through our region. We have recorded  87 albums, of which the Frogville records label manufactured 25 of those on cd (also available digitally thru iTunes, cdbaby, Amazon etc.), of those 9 albums stayed on the Roots Radio  & FAR radio charts for 5-8 weeks and 5 of those stayed on the charts for 18-26 weeks. We make good music shine. We would like to share our knowledge and experience with young talented musicians to help create greater recordings via technique and performance, so we created the Frogville music project to fund all the things we wish we could do.

We are not in this for the money, but for the love of music and music production, and that shows in our track record, go ahead just Google us. I am just a painter who loved music so much I spent my whole life savings to support this thing we call “creation” and to help ultra talented and equally broke musicians, songwriters, song smiths of  IMHO unmeasurable greatness… Nathan Scott Moore, Joe West, Bill Palmer, Boris McCutcheon, John Courage, etc. and more.  We built a great studio (just expanded from 900sf to 3300sf) and I believe we made some great albums that unfortunately never had the funding or marketing money to be distributed nationally in the USA, yet we have had some success in Japan and the Netherlands and the UK, standing out as the “cream of the crop” of American americana.

We, as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) are seeking funding via the very few who can afford to give. Then I realized IF we can get enough people to send us 1 $ , a gift everyone can afford to give, I wouldn’t have to keep asking Millionaires for gifts of  50,000 $ which is difficult at best and uncomfortable for both. …..   So we need at least a million really good people who also like really good people and good music and the educational aspect of teaching the next generation the secrets of making better music and to continue the Frogville music scene’s family vibe continue to elevate the music scene in Santa Fe and spread the wealth of our music scene into the ever increasing presence of film, movies, tv and advertising …

The Frogville Music Project is a non profit 501(c)(3) tax deductible charitable & educational organization in Santa Fe New Mexico. We are brand new having just filed our non profit paperwork May 4, 2010 and we can now legally ask for donations. We exist to make the world a better place through making better musicians and better music. Music matters and may be the key to changing hearts, minds and attitudes and hopefully the world.. “Music soothed the savage beast.” Nothing can change or enhance one’s attitude or mind set so instantaneously as music, it can fuel the fire, or provide shelter from the storm.

Our mission is to assist in the education, artist development, recording and promotion of music-related endeavors which create and preserve educational opportunities, arts enrichment and aesthetics in music performance, creation, and appreciation for music by those who love music and have aspirations of learning the business of music, stage and studio performance, studio recording and production.

We hope to raise the funding necessary to keep our studio in santa fe relevant to the musical community and to continue discovering young, unique, talented and original, underfunded artists and help them record a project that they can grow a career upon. The Frogville Music Project will also host monthly or bi-monthly recording/ music workshops and a credited intern program with the local colleges and high school where an eager music student can get real world training in a working professional recording studio. We would also like to get some hd cameras and a video editor and allow for a making videos, video shorts and music video class.

We NEED Your donation to keep the seed of good music blooming in the minds of the next generations! Funding for the arts was cut by 6 million dollars in New Mexico alone in 2010. Many music, film and art classes in the middle and high schools were dropped. Our program can assist in the growth of the arts in a  few of those kids giving them invaluable experience for the real world as human beings developing their gifts and honing their interests in how it all works.
